Dear CBAers,
HT Cassiopeiae just went into outburst. It's still unclear whether the
outburst will prove to be a normal or a super... but worth hunting that
star in the evening twilight on the chance that it's a super. If it's
still mag 13-14 when you read this, it's probably a super. Been a very
long time between supers for this odd eclipsing star!
In the south, the South African-led campaign on TX Col ends tonight I
believe (Dave, correct me if I'm wrong). Berto has gotten some
interesting data on EC05114-7955 which makes it look like another of these
nova-like 3-hour superhumpers. Great target for the next few weeks down
south. Pretty much all night too. The other good southern target is T
Pyx.
Up north, the midnight and morning campaign targets continue to be BH Lyn
and BK Lyn. We're getting ready to start this year's campaign on DW UMa,
so you might want to jump on this guy. As usual, the best observing
strategy is to fall in love with a star... and never let her go!
