    v592 herculis at last?

    Dear CBAers,

There's a report, an hour old, that V592 Her, dormant since the summer
of '68, just erupted and is at 12th magnitude. Can anyone confirm or
deny? If true, this would be our star of the year - and we should stop
at nothing to get long time series.

Follow it into a tree. Better yet, chop the tree down and keep going.

In Downes and Shara, and in Duerbeck also.

Might not be true, of course, but damn exciting if true.

Jonathan tried a couple of weeks ago to measure the quiescent brightness.
He measured an object 20 arcsec away from the Downes and Shara position
to have V=21.4. If that's not the star, then the upper limit is 22.
Faint son of a gun. Anyway, be alert for this *possible* 20 arcsec
    error.

Just for the record, the official Downes-Shara 2000 coordinates are:
     16 30 58.
    +21 16 57.

(Sorry for the coarseness in RA - that might be responsible for the
    aforementioned alleged positional error)

    Send results forthwith!

                               joe
